After her daughter was born, she noticed a lack of more complex patterns in the juvenile marketplace mothers to create stylish nurseries for their little ones. She then added baby bedding and accessories to her line and gained a following thereafter. Her hobby turned into Amy Coe Inc. in 1993, and she opened her first retail store in Westport, Conn. in 2006.
